Was he born in a prominent family, or into the most insignificant one? Alex didn't know. How did he get onto Novum's streets? He didn't know. Did he have any brothers? Any sisters? What about grandparents? What did his parents look like? Alex couldn't remember. Either lost or intentionally disposed of, the poor child was forced to steal, to fight humans and dogs alike for a piece of bread. He didn't know how much time he had spent on the streets, he had forgotten numbers and days, but some time later, a hooded man approached the dirty and freezing child and took him to a place where, unbeknownst to Alex, not many survived. A place which doubles as a home for orphans, for those unwanted, for those sold by their families for a bit more coin ...and a slaughterhouse for a lot of these poor souls. Hello readers. Author here. I feel the need to type my thoughts here so there won't be any problems further down the line. What I want to write is a Fantasy novel, so don't expect the MC to be the absolute best in everything he does, says or thinks, at least for the starting bit. I am still trying to make head or tails about this novel after all. In any case that would be a long ways off. The world I envision in this book is a bit dark, and I plan to tackle some more mature themes, if I get the chance. So, with that said, I don't want to read a 1-star or 2-star review of some kid who got into my novel expecting to get a quick dose of dopamine, and received little in return. I am from Europe, which means English is not my first language, which is why I wholeheartedly accept constructive criticism, a rare breed of reviews in here. If you notice that I make the same mistake twice, a grammatical one for example, I would rather you tell me the correct way to use it than just shrug off and say,
